Way2Global is the technical sponsor of Supervision, Risks & Profitability 2019, providing interpreting services

On 25 and 26 June, over 600 executives and experts from the banking and financial sector met in the Palazzo Congressi in Rome for Oltre Basilea — Supervision, Risks & Profitability 2019, the reference event on risk management, capital and European vigilance, organised by ABI Servizi, the department of the Italian Banking Association that has been organising the sector’s most authoritative conventions since 1998.

111 speakers and 28 sponsors, including Way2Global with its linguistic services, made their contribution during two full-immersion days. The sessions were tailored to an audience of executives and experts in the Credit, Finance, Corporate, Risk Management, Internal Auditing, Trading, Investment Banking and Project Finance sectors, as well is in the Legal, Organisational and Information Systems, Studies and Marketing sectors. They illustrated the trends of an increasingly complex and international market.

Two plenary sessions opened and closed the event, with a further 10 held simultaneously. They included sessions for detailed analysis of topics regarding European regulation, security, practices and risks, to highlight current topics and the most significant innovations in these areas. The sessions were provided with the participation of major Italian and European security authorities, sector academics, consultancy and IT firms, as well as the fundamental contributions of professionals who work in the field every day.

Inevitably one of the most current transversal topics was also covered: sustainability. At the opening plenary session, Mario Nava, Director of DG Financial Stability, Financial Services and Capital Markets Union of the European Commission, stated that responsibility for the future is in all our hands:

“We asked the only man to have crossed the North Pole and the South Pole on foot what was the greatest risk our planet is facing. This was the answer: ‘The biggest risk is to think that someone else can save this planet.’”

This is why sustainable finance must become a priority in the expectations and prerogatives of regulators, professionals, citizens and customers.

In this context, our specialised interpreting services dedicated to the world of finance enhanced the international scope of the event and multilingual translation as an enabling factor for seamless involvement with technical content and the complex subjects of discussion panels, for guests from all over the world, encouraging exchange, communication and collective participation.

In these circumstances too, Way2Global with its payoff “translations that unite the world”, reconfirmed itself as the ideal partner for a banking and finance world where global interdependence is a given and requires the honing of new regulatory, governance and vigilance practices.
